The Trinity Grammar School Preparatory School Library is central to the School’s learning environment as it supports the inquiry learning approach and provides a strong focus on literature. The Library supports the informational, recreational and curriculum needs of its students and staff, providing an extensive collection of print materials in addition to access to electronic resources. The Preparatory School has an excellent collection of fiction, non-fiction and digital databases. The collection also includes books, magazines, audio and digital books and DVD’s. Parents are welcome to visit the library and the library staff are happy to assist parents in locating resources. Parents are welcome to visit the library for borrowing and reading before and after school. Boys in Years 3-6 are able to visit the library during lunch to play games, build or read. There are regular competitions and activities to keep the boys engaged and promote the library. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes visit the library each week for a combined borrowing and lesson period with the teacher librarian. Infants and Primary classes borrow weekly with their class teachers, whilst lessons with the teacher librarian are timetabled each week to support the boys in their Unit of Inquiry or development of information literacy skills. Additional times may also be booked in collaboration with class teachers.
